<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polymer developing sufficient proton conductivity even under low humidity conditions, a polymer electrolyte, and application thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer has a phenylene group, wherein two or three hydrogen atoms are substituted by a group represented by formula (A), as a structural unit and is insoluble in water. In the formula, A<SP>1</SP>is a group represented by the following formulas (1a), (1b) or (1c) and two or three A<SP>1</SP>may be different or the same mutually; R<SP>10</SP>and R<SP>11</SP>are each independently a hydrogen atom, a 1-20C alkyl group, or a 6-20C aryl group; R<SP>12</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a 1-20C alkyl group, or a 6-20C aryl group; M is a metal ion or an ammonium ion and when M is a divalent or higher-valent metal ion, M may be bonded to another substituent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
