PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-chamber type air conditioner capable of sufficiently exercising performance of an outdoor unit 21 and indoor units of the multi-chamber type air conditioner, shortening an operation time of the outdoor unit 21, and achieving energy saving while improving occupant comfort. SOLUTION: In this multi-chamber type air conditioner having a means for switching a plurality of operation modes, one of the modes is a mode for implementing air conditioning while judging an operation state and a stop state of the indoor units 11 on the basis of detection values from temperature sensors respectively mounted on the indoor units 11 and set temperature information, and the other mode is a mode for allowing at least two or more indoor units 11 to implement air conditioning by judging the operation state and the stop state of the indoor units 11 on the basis of a detection value from the temperature sensor 16 mounted in the specified indoor unit 11a and the set temperature information.
