PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective lens socket capable of firmly attaching a solid immersion lens to an observation object with simple configuration. SOLUTION: The objective lens socket 9 comprises a base part 70 mounted at the front end of a lens barrel 26 of the objective lens 21 and a movable member 80 on which a solid immersion lens holder 8 is mounted and which is slidably mounted on the base section 70 slidably in an optical axis L direction of the objective lens, and the solid immersion lens holder is arranged in front of the objective lens. In such a configuration, the lens holder can properly be arranged in front of the objective lens. The solid immersion lens that the lens holder possesses is made movable in the optical axis L direction and as a result thereof, the solid immersion lens 6 can be easily and firmly attached to the observation object 11.
