PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing fine particles from a granular material, by which the whole of an apparatus for removing fine particles from the granular material can be made simple and compact and in which the resin powder, dust and other fine particles stuck to the granular material can efficiently be removed with high precision and to provide the apparatus for removing the fine particles from the granular material. SOLUTION: The method for removing fine particles from the granular material comprises the steps of: supplying the granular material P to the upper part of an inverted cone-like separation screen 9 by pneumatic conveyance; and performing air washing of the granular material P by an air current passing through the separation screen 9 from the inside thereof to the outside while spirally whirling the granular material P along the inner periphery of the separation screen 9 by centrifugal force accompanying inertial force of the granular material from the upside of the separation screen to the downside to remove fine particles stuck to the granular material P. The pneumatic conveyance of the granular material P to the upper part of the separation screen 9 is performed by an operation of sucking the granular material pneumatically on the downstream side of the separation screen 9.
