PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autoanalyzer capable of suppressing the lowering of the life of a container. SOLUTION: The autoanalyzer 1 for measuring the optical characteristics of the liquid held in the container 5 is equipped with a light source 11a for irradiating the container 5 with luminous flux and a control part 15 for cutting off the irradiation of the container 5 with the luminous flux and has a plurality of the containers 5 arranged in a predetermined direction and measures of the optical characteristics of the liquid held in the containers 5 while relatively moving the position of the light source 11a with the containers 5. The control part 15 puts out the light source 11a of the liquid held in the containers 5 are not measured to cut off the irradiation of the containers 5 with luminous flux.
