<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth-iron-boron system magnet having low coercivity and high squareness ratio suitable for a motor magnet and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The permanent magnet meeting the formula: (Ce<SB>1-x-y</SB>R1<SB>x</SB>R2<SB>y</SB>)<SB>a</SB>Fe<SB>b</SB>Co<SB>c</SB>B<SB>d</SB>M<SB>e</SB>X<SB>f</SB>C<SB>g</SB>A<SB>h</SB>, (wherein R1: at least one kind selected from Nd, Pr, Sm, La, R2: at least one kind selected from Tb, Dy, or from elements that are not selected in R1, X: at least one kind selected from Ga, Si, Al, A: at least one kind selected from F, O, and however, it is assumed such that 0.1≤x≤0.5, 0≤y≤0.1, 0.1≤x+y≤0.5, 7≤a≤18, 50≤b≤80, 1≤c≤30, 4≤d≤18, 0≤e≤6, 0≤f≤6, 0≤g≤5, 0.01≤h≤3, a+b+c+d+e+f+g+h=100 atom%), with the conditions such that at least one phase of a phase consisting of at least either one kind of Fe and R1 and R2, or at least either one kind of O or F in grain boundary is present, and coercivity at a room temperature is 0.5 kOe or more and 5 kOe or less, and squareness ratio expressed in the ratio of remanent magnetization to magnetization in a magnetic field of 10 kOe is 80% or higher is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
