PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device capable of protecting externally exposed components against falling and a shock. SOLUTION: The portable terminal device is provided with a fingerprint sensor, a main display part, a sub-display part, and a cover for respectively covering components exposed to the surface of the portable terminal device, such as a camera lens. When an acceleration that is equal to or greater than a prescribed threshold is detected by falling or the like, the cover is operated to cover the surfaces of the respective components with the cover, thereby preventing the respective components from being damaged and broken by being hit by a projecting object and a foreign matter.
