MUTI-MODE CAPACITANCE TO DIGITAL CONVERTER AND RESISTANCE TO DIGITAL CONVERTER CIRCUIT

A multimode capacitance to digital converter (CDC) and resistance to digital converter (RDC) circuit is provided. The multimode CDC and RDC circuit comprises: a dual mode correlated double sampling (CDS) unit configured to convert a capacitor or a resistance into a differential voltage output, and operate in a high resolution mode; a capacitance to digital converter (CDC) unit configured to output, as digital data, the differential voltage output of the capacitor or the resistance and to operate in a low power mode; and a successive approximation register analog to digital converter (SAR ADC) unit configured to operate using an SAR algorithm and commonly process data of the dual mode CDS or the CDC unit.
