Provided are a method and device for controlling a server fan of a complete machine cabinet, the method comprising: receiving, by a first-level management unit, temperature information and a heat dissipation requirement of a server node managed by a second-level management unit, wherein the temperature information and the heat dissipation requirement are reported by the second-level management unit; determining a fan speed according to the temperature information and the heat dissipation requirement; and transmitting the fan speed to the second-level management unit for the second-level management unit to control a fan in a region corresponding to the second-level management unit to operate at the fan speed. The present invention ensures a heat dissipation safety of a system, controls a total power consumption of a fan to be in a reasonable range, reduces a total power consumption of the system, prevents an abnormal electrical power supply caused by an actual electricity consumption exceeding a maximum rated electricity consumption of a complete machine cabinet, and therefore increases a deployment density of servers of the complete machine cabinet. |
