Provided is a reinforcement member for tires which improves durability. Furthermore, as a result of employing said reinforcement member for tires, a tire is provided which has improved durability while achieving a reduction in weight. This reinforcement member (1) for tires is formed by winding a rubber strip (2) at an inclination with respect to the longitudinal direction of the member, and without any gaps, and folding back the rubber strip at ends of the member in the width direction, said rubber strip being obtained by rubber coating one reinforcement cord or a plurality of aligned reinforcement cords. The rubber strip (2) substantially forms two reinforcement layers having different inclination directions. In a folded-back section (T) closest to the end (2e) of the rubber strip at which winding ends, the rubber strip is passed underneath a wound rubber strip (2A) which has already been wound, and which has a different inclination direction, and is subsequently folded back. |
