<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell separator of long life and high reliability and its manufacturing method for improving a yield rate of a diecast separator and reducing manufacturing cost of the same and making a fuel cell compact and light, to say nothing of improvement of thermal conductivity, electric conductivity, and corrosion resistance of the separator through reduction of casting defects at die-casting. <P>SOLUTION: The separator for a solid polymer fuel cell is made equipped with flow channels on either face of a substrate with a content of inner gas of 1 ml/100g or less under normal temperature and pressure environments. Molten metal is teemed in a cup so as an initial solidified layer not to be formed, and then, the molten metal is cooled to form semi-solidified slurry, and the semi-solidified slurry is press-fitted into voids of a mold to mold a metallic fuel cell separator having flow channels at either face of the substrate in the manufacturing method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
