NOVEL POLYMERIC ORGANIC COMPOUND, ION EXCHANGER USING IT, ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE, CATALYST, MEMBRANE ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY, AND FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polymeric organic compound having a nitrogen-containing heterocycle having a sulfonic acid group or a sulfonic acid base with high activity as an acid catalyst, an ion exchange body using it, an electrolyte membrane, a catalyst, a membrane electrode assembly, and a fuel cell.

SOLUTION: The polymeric organic compound represented by general formula (1) having both (A) a constitution unit comprising a ketone having a nitrogen-containing heterocycle and (B) a constitution unit containing the sulfonic acid group or the sulfonic acid base in the molecule is provided. The ion exchange body using it is provided. The electrolyte membrane, the catalyst, the membrane electrode assembly and the fuel cell are provided. HCy represents the nitrogen-containing heterocycle, and compound represents a compound.
