PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a touch sensing method thereof are provided to perform an operation of touch without direct touch of a touch screen by sensing touch of an external image through a pointer and a shadow-included image thereof. CONSTITUTION: A projector module(155) displays an image on an external screen. A camera(121) receives a pointer of the image and a shadow-included image by the pointer. A control unit(180) checks the distance between the pointer and the shadows in the image. According to the degree of the distance, the control unit senses touch about an indicating point of the pointer in the image. The control unit performs an operation corresponding to the touch point.
