Many procedures require a device to be inserted into a body lumen with the assistance of a guidewire. Devices are often slidably attached to the guidewire and pushed along it, by a catheter, into a body lumen. Often the devices are unable to negotiate small radius turns because the pushing catheter is stiffer than the guidewire and their passage distorts the curves of the guidewire. This invention provides means of reducing the distortion of the guidewire or delivery means, thereby reducing fouling and other means for facilitating the delivery of devices along the guidewire.
|
