NEGATIVE ELECTRODE FOR NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTIC SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a non-aqueous electrolytic secondary battery, in which a material constituting an active material layer can be prevented effectively from coming off the active material layer.

SOLUTION: The negative electrode 10 for the non-aqueous electrolytic secondary battery includes the active material layer 12 containing active material particles 12a to contain Si or Sn. The surface of the active material layer 12 has a fine irregular shape caused by particles 12a. The active material layer 12 has a binder 14 on its surface. The binder 14 is in a non-film mode and mainly exists in the recess part of the irregular shape. Out of particles 12a contained in the active material layer 12, at least one portion of its surface of at least those existing on the surface of the active material layer 12 is preferably covered by a metal material 13 having a low lithium compound forming ability.
