PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of determining replacement timing of a navigation system, using functions provided to the navigation system, and capable of making the navigation system execute operation, in response to the determination. SOLUTION: This navigation system 1 for a vehicle specifies the present position and a travel condition of the vehicle (steps 110, 120), and displays, based thereon, replacement information on an image display 13 and a speaker 14 (step 150), when the vehicle is determined as traveling at a place that does not correspond to a road or a parking area in a map data (step 130), and furthermore, when prescribed N years or longer is further determined to have lapsed from the production date of the navigation system (step 140).
