PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a serial type color inkjet recorder forming an image by using a symmetrical recording head discharging large and small dots, wherein a recording head is constituted so that a periodic unevenness in a main scanning direction is suppressed to the minimum, and also to provide its recording method. SOLUTION: Two nozzle arrays c1 and m1 of cyan and magenta positioned closer to each other are arranged so that they form dots on adjacent scanning lines in scanning for recording. A high-quality image free from density unevenness or color unevenness is thereby formed even if a recording head is tilted, or even if a periodic displacement is generated in a recording position according to a position in the main scanning direction.
