PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and economically raising seaweed on a small scale in a high growth rate without requiring any large-scale equipment. SOLUTION: The method for raising seaweed comprises digging at least a single ditch in the earth and sand at the bottom of the sea, and at the same time, laying string-shaped materials obtained by putting seaweed seeds between narrow nonwoven fabrics comprising biodegradable fibers at predetermined intervals and twisting the fibers to internally contain the seeds, underground into the ditch in series.
