PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which deals with a low temperature fixing system, has satisfactory offset resistance, does not stain a fixing apparatus and an image, has satisfactory cleanability, and can form a visible image having satisfactory sharpness over a long period, and to provide an image forming method or the like. SOLUTION: The toner contains at least: a binding resin; a mold releasing agent; a coloring agent; and a layered inorganic mineral. The binding resin contains at least: a polyester based resin (A) whose softening temperature Tm(A) is 120 to 160°C; and a polyester based resin (B) whose softening temperature Tm(B) is 80 to <120°C, and in which at least either the polyester based resins (A) or (B) is the one obtained by subjecting an alcoholic component substantially composed only of fatty alcohol and a carboxylic acid component to condensation polymerization, also, the ratio of≥65 mol% of the alcoholic component is composed of 1,2-propanediol, and the average circularity of the toner is 0.93 to 0.97.
