PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat battery high in performance and excellent in reliability, by forming a facing state between a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate in a parallel plane thereby to eliminate stress or a step.SOLUTION: A flat battery has a positive electrode plate 11 and a negative electrode plate 16, each of which includes an active material layer formed on the surface of a metal foil, while a plurality of layers are formed such that the positive electrode plate 11 and the negative electrode plate 16 face to each other and housed in a housing body. In the flat battery, a fixing member 20, as a fixing means to fix such that the positive electrode plate 11 and the negative electrode plate 16 are not separated, is provided, the fixing member 20 covering an end surface of the positive electrode plate 11 or the negative electrode plate 16 and side surfaces of the plurality of layers. The fixing member 20 comprises a first portion 21 covering the end surface and a second portion 22 extending from an end side of the first portion 21 to cover the side surfaces, the first portion 21 being substantially the same size as a facing shape in the plurality of layers.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
