PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium secondary battery including a positive electrode manufactured using a water-based binder, from the standpoint of cost reduction, environmental load reduction, and enhancement of charge discharge characteristics.SOLUTION: A sodium ion battery having good battery characteristics is manufactured by using a positive electrode for sodium secondary battery using an electrode mixture layer containing a positive electrode active material containing any one selected from specific composite metal oxides having at least P2 type or P3 type crystal structure, and a binder containing polycarboxylic acid and/or polycarboxylic acid alkali metal salt.SELECTED DRAWING: None
