A method of removing acid compounds contained in a gaseous effluent, the gaseous effluent being selected from the group consisting of natural gas, syngas, combustion fumes, relinery gas, acid gas from amine units, Claus tail gas, biomass fermentation gas, cement gas plant gas and incinerator fumes, the acid compounds including at least one selected from the group consisting of CO2,H2S, mercaptans, COS, CS2, and SO2, the method comprising: contacting the gaseous effluent with an absorbent solution during an acid compound absorption stage, the absorbent solution comprising: water, at least one diamine selected from among the molecules with general formulas (I) and (II): wherein each radical R is independently selected from among a methyl radical or an ethyl radical.
