PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improvement of activity of Fe-S cluster requiring protein.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a recombinant host cell comprising a dihydroxy acid dehydratase polypeptide, in particular, a yeast cell. The invention also relates to a recombinant host cell having dihydroxy acid dehydratase with increased specific activity as a result of increased polypeptide expression, regulation of cellular Fe-S cluster biosynthesis or a combination thereof. The invention includes use methods of the host cell and methods for identifying polypeptides that increase the flux of the Fe-S cluster biosynthetic pathway in a host cell.SELECTED DRAWING: None
