In a dielectric barrier discharge ionization detector (2) according to the present invention, sample components in a sample gas introduced from a sample introduction tube (35) are ionized by the light, and the like, emitted from a plasma formed through the ionization of a gas for plasma formation, collected by an ion collection electrode (33), and detected with a high degree of accuracy. A portion of the ions gathered in the vicinity of the ion collection electrode (33) are carried by a gas flow, discharged by a sample discharge tube (31) to the outside of the tube, and sent through an ion introduction tube (44) into a chamber (40) of a mass spectrometry unit (4). The mass spectrometry unit (4) separates the introduced ions originating from the sample components by mass-to-charge ratio and detects the same. As a result, it is possible to highly accurately detect a wide range of compounds using a dielectric barrier discharge ionization detector (2), obtain mass spectrometry results for the compounds, and identify the compounds on the basis of the mass spectrometry results. Thus, quantitative information and qualitative information for compounds separated by a GC unit (1) can be obtained together. |
