The invention relates to a covering consisting of mechanically interconnectable elements with the following features: a. on the sides (6, 31) thereof to be interconnected, the elements (1, 2) have corresponding profiling via which adjacent elements (1, 2) can be interlocked while being joined; b. the interlocking is effected by at least one spring element (11) which is articulated on one of the elements (2) and is pivotable during the joining motion behind a locking edge (28) of a groove (24) in the adjacent element (1); c. the spring element (11) is an integral component of the element (2) before the joining motion, the integral connection between the spring element (11) and the element (2) being configured as a designed breaking point which is intended to break during pivoting of the spring element (11); d. the spring element (11) is additionally joined to the element (2) in certain regions via an elastic material (22); e. means (16) for form-fitting and/or friction-fitting engagement of the spring element (11), relative to the element (2) on which the spring element (11) is mounted, in the end position thereof are arranged on the spring element (11). |
