摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum cross-section selection method for a structural material, device and a program, by which the structural material cross-section optimal in structure and cost satisfying design conditions can easily and speedily be selected from preregistered cross-sections without relying on an expert of structure design, the need for calculation for a structure is eliminated, and the method, device and program can be applied in type compatibility as well.SOLUTION: A node load acting on each of nodes p into which a beam is equally divided is input (R1). A node load matrix [P] resulting from this input value is multiplied by a stress coefficient matrix [α} and a deformation coefficient matrix [&bgr;], thereby operating the degree of stressed state and an amount of deformation, such as flexure moment generated at each node (R2). A permissible degree of stressed state and a permissible amount of deformation, which are determined for each cross-section type of the registered beam are compared with the degree of stressed state and the amount of deformation, calculated in the above process. The beam of a cross-cross section highest in predetermined priority is selected among beams of cross-sections in which the amounts of stressed state and the amounts of deformation at all the nodes satisfy the permissible degree of stressed state and the permissible amount of deformation (R3).
