On starting, the whole belt (1) is wound onto one of the rollers. Then, from the side, a suitable number of banknotes are loaded, where a motor (15) feeds in a staged manner from an empty compartment to a feed-in station, with the belt being wound in stages over to the roller (3). - The banknotes are fed inwards on the belt via a reading device (5), which notes the banknote values and transmits this information to the computer (6) forming part of the device. The computer reads simultaneously the pocket position which is encoded by e.g. bar code. The banknote value and position are stored in the computer memory. The device is provided with three stations; one for the computer finding a suitable pocket with the aid of motors (15,16), one (9) for feeding banknotes out of pockets selected by the computer, and one with a cassette for storage of banknotes. |
