PURPOSE:To adjust the color by performing the stable image processing and the process control of an input image. CONSTITUTION:In the color adjustment mode, color pattern data outputted from an RGB pattern producer 702 and a CMYK pattern producer 706 has timing controlled in accordance with each color data by a memory 707 and is recorded on a form. The color pattern is read as RGB data by a reader 701 and is converted into L* u*v*data by a color difference operation device 718 and is compared with the L*u*v* value to be outputted. A system controller 720 displays the difference in lightness and the difference in chromaticity of each color on a display device 103 to inform an operator of the color reproducing state and changes the process control or image processing contents of an image output device so as to correct the reproduction in the case of excess of the absolute value of a lightness difference DELTAL* and a chromaticity difference DELTAD over certain values. |
