PURPOSE:To provide a character pattern generator capable of outputting character patterns at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:This character pattern generator 11 is provided with plural sets of character developing sections 14 and bit map caches 15 for storing the character patterns outputted by the respective character developing sections 14. The character patterns from any of the bit map caches 15 are outputted to a frame buffer 25 when the character patterns instructed to output are stored in this bit map cache 15. The character developing section 14 connected to the bit map cache 15 where the number of the other character patterns to be deleted is smallest when the character patterns are stored is made to execute the formation of these character patterns in other cases. |
