摘要 PURPOSE:To perform detection of fail by deciding the occurrence of lockup operation by means of a signal pressure in a hysteresis range wherein the switching signal pressure of a switching valve during ON from OFF and that during OFF from ON are set to values different from each other. CONSTITUTION:In the feed and discharge of an oil pressure to and from an oil chamber 12 on the lockup ON side and an oil chamber 13 on the lockup OFF side, a lockup clutch 11 is controlled by control devices 60 and 70. A switching valve 20 to control the feed and discharge of an oil pressure to and from the two oil chambers 12 and 13 has a hysteresis for a signal pressure during switching from a lockup ON position to a lockup OFF position. When a control mode is in a lockup OFF region, a solenoid valve control means 71 is operated and a signal pressure in the lockup OFF region of the switching valve 20 is outputted from a linear solenoid valve 30. In this case, when the switching valve 20 is in such a state to be switched to the lockup ON side, lockup operation of a torque converter 10 occurs, whereby the operation is decided by a deciding means 82 to perform detection of fail.
