The crimping pliers have a crimping head (1) with a stationary pressure plate (20). They have a movable pressure plate (26) which moves linearly relatively to the first pressure plate. The movable plate is controlled by a knee-lever drive, operated by pivoting a movable handgrip (14) relative to a stationary handgrip (4), against the force of a return spring (43). At least one of the pressure plates is interchangeable and is secured via a pair of bearing pins fitting into corresponding openings in the pressure plate, one of which is open along one edge.
