PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the antipruritic effect of an external antipruritic remedy. SOLUTION: In a method for measuring scratching action of an animal to be examined, after a pruritus causing substance is administered intradermally to the animal to be examined, the external antipruritic remedy to be evaluated is preliminarily administered to the intradermally administered place, and the reduction of the scratching action of the animal to be examined caused by the administration of the external antipruritic remedy is measured.
