PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening device which can secure mothproofness by a simple structure and which dispenses with mothproof packing at the lower end of a stile of an outer sash. SOLUTION: This opening device is equipped with: a frame 2 which is composed of a head 2a, a sill 2b, and left and right jambs 2c and 2d; a sliding screen 4 which is provided at least on an outdoor side in the frame 2 in an horizontally openable/closable manner; and a wire screen 5 which is provided on the outdoor side in the frame 2 in an horizontally openable/closable manner. A top surface 12 of the sill 2b is formed as an almost flat surface; a suspended piece 18 is provided in the indoor-side lower part of the sliding screen 4; a guide groove 21 for guiding the suspended piece 18 is formed in the top surface 12 of the sill 2b; a shallow groove part 63 is provided in the top surface 12 of the sill below the outdoor-side lower part of the sliding door 4; and a mothproof suspended piece 64 is provided in the outdoor-side lower part of the sliding screen 4 in such a manner as to get closer to the groove part 63.
