PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base for a scaffold board capable of using conventional scaffold boards as they are and capable of being easily fitted to/removed from the scaffold boards and which do not shake or deviate depending on makers of the scaffold boards. SOLUTION: The scaffold has a base body 4 which is placed on the side edge 5 of the scaffold board 1. An end cap 10, an out guide 11 supported by the outside end face 6 of the scaffold board 1, a catch guide 12 engaged with the horizontal member 2 of the scaffolding standard, and a locking piece 13 crossing the catch guide 12 with a horizontal member 2 and locking, are provided at respective forward and afterward ends of the base body 4. The upper end of the catch guide 12 is pivoted in the end cap 10 and suspended to be rockable in the forward and backward directions and the lower end engagement part 12a is put in between the front and rear end faces 7 of the scaffold board 1 and the horizontal member 2 at the inside face proximity position of a scaffold board fixing hook 8.
