The method involves detecting echoes of a received signal, and estimating inter-correlation between two temporally close echoes. The two echoes with less energy are rejected if the inter-correlation satisfies a predetermined test. The signal transmits symbols, each with a predetermined number of chips. The two echoes are declared close when they are temporally separated by duration lower than or equal to the duration of a chip. An independent claim is also included for a component of a wireless communication system incorporating a rake receiver. |
