PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo track inspecting apparatus which can inspect various tape-like recording media in having different format types of a servo pattern with one set. SOLUTION: In the servo track inspecting apparatus (10) inspecting a servo track written in a tape-like recording medium (MT), the apparatus is provided with an input part (51) inputting input information (I<SB>n</SB>). a tape running part (20) running the tape-like recording medium (MT) in the longitudinal direction, a measuring part (30) detecting the servo track of the running tape-like recording medium (MT) and outputting track detection information (Δt<SB>i</SB>), a memory (44) which can store a plurality of operation functions (F<SB>n</SB>) selected alternatively based on the input information (I<SB>n</SB>), and a computing unit (42) obtaining run-out amount (ΔL<SB>i</SB>) of the servo track from the track detection information (Δt<SB>i</SB>) and the selected operation functions (F<SB>n</SB>).
