PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alignment layer having excellent peelability from a base material and also excellent liquid crystal aligning properties, and a laminate, an optical film, a method for producing an optical film, a polarizing plate, a liquid crystal display device and an alignment layer forming composition.SOLUTION: An alignment layer comprises a polymer that consists of only a monomer with an SP value of 22.0 or more and a percentage of number of hydroxy groups per molecule based on the monomer molecular weight of 0.4% or more, the polymer obtained by curing the monomer with active energy rays.SELECTED DRAWING: None
