<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having an excellent cycle life, and high energy density while suppressing elution of Mn. <P>SOLUTION: A positive electrode material for the lithium secondary battery has a phosphoric acid metal compound and a cubic metal oxide on the surface of a lithium-manganese composite oxide expressed by a composition formula LiMn<SB>x</SB>M<SB>2-x</SB>O<SB>4</SB>(provided that 1.75≤x<2, and M is one or more kinds of element selected from a group comprising Li, Mg, and Ni) while having a cubic spinel structure (space group Fd 3m), and the phosphoric acid metal compound contains a lithium phosphate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
