PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a whitening agent and whitening cosmetic that can be ingested daily, easily, and safely and has excellent tyrosinase inhibitory activity or melanin generation inhibitory activity.SOLUTION: The whitening agent contains, as an active ingredient, a lactic acid fermented material of Vitis obtained by fermenting Vitis seeds and peels with a lactic acid bacteria comprising at least Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus brevis, and/or extract thereof.
