Method of digital compensation of nonlinearities in a communication system and receiver device

The method involves estimating characteristics of a transmission channel (4) from an acquisition sequence (P1) transmitted via the channel. Nonlinearities, introduced during emission and reception, are estimated from another acquisition sequence (P2) that is received at the level of a receiver of a communication system and deformed by the nonlinearities. Nonlinearities deforming a signal received by the receiver are compensated based on the nonlinearity estimation. An independent claim is also included for a receiver device for receiving signals transmitted by an emitter via a transmission channel and comprising a unit for digitally compensating nonlinearities.
