<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter that converts power with a high power factor even under low load. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter 30 converts alternating-current voltage input from an alternating-current power supply into any voltage and outputting it. This power converter includes: one switching circuit A connected in series with one of alternating-current input lines; another switching circuit B connected in parallel with the alternating-current power supply; a filter circuit 32 having a first capacitor C1 connected in parallel with the alternating-current power supply on the alternating-current input side of the switching circuits A, B and a first reactor L11 and a second reactor L12 respectively connected in series with two lines to which alternating current is input from both ends of the first capacitor C1; and a power factor improvement circuit 34 having a third reactor L3 that is connected in parallel with the first capacitor C1 in the filter circuit 32 and is used to improve a power factor by resonance with the first capacitor C1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
