Disclosed is a connector for wires and the like, comprising a body having a through passage adapted to receive a pair of oppositely directed wire end portions in close lengthwise relationship with each other, channels within the body one to each side of the through passage acutely inclined to and, at their inner ends, breaking into the through passage , and wedges within the channels adapted upon attempted withdrawal of either of the wire end portions from the through passage to urge the wires therebetween forcibly towards each other, whereby friction secures them firmly in the connector. The wedges consist of balls and springs, and the body is preferably formed by two diecastings secured together by integral projections on one body part riveted after passing through holes in the other part, twin bores forming the through passage while the channels are formed by grooves in the mating faces of the body parts. |
