Glass-pane mounting in frame

A first support (14) fixed in the frame (12) bears against one main surface of the pane (10) and a first holding strip (32) against the other. The first strip is fixed in position by an oblong component driven into it at a position covered by a seal (26). A second holding strip (36) is fixed between the first one (32) and the frame, and is similarly fixed by an oblong component driven into it at a point covered by the first strip. The second strip can bear against a second fixed support in the frame at its side furthest from the pane, the support being typically formed by the side of a groove in the frame and in which a rib on the strip engages. The top surfaces of the first strip and support can be in line with each other when seen at right angles to the pane.
