<p>The electric current flowing in three parallel conductors 1,2,3, is measured by measuring the associated magnetic fields using three Faraday-effect magnetic field sensors 7,8,9. The conductors 1,2,3 are located in a first plane, and the sensors 7,8,9 are located in a second, parallel plane at positions closest to the respective conductors. The distance between the sensors and the respective conductors is measured using three optical time-of-flight detectors 10,11,12. In a further embodiment, the cross-section of the three conductors forms an equilateral triangle, with the conductors positioned at the apices, and the sensors are positioned half-way along the sides of the triangle.</p> |
