<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize mistake applied to an optical writing device by simplify ing the handling of data for correcting emission of a light emitting dot in terms of an optical print head having a light emitting element including the multiple light emitting dots. SOLUTION: A light emitting element 2, a driving means 3 and a memory means 4 for data for correction are integrated by being independent with an optical writing device. Data in relation to variation of illuminance which may occur when the multiple light emitting dots of the light emitting element 2 are activated in an identical condition is stored in the memory means 4. Upon driving, a CPU 12 in the optical writing device reads the data from the memory means 4 and develops the data in an LUT 11 to obtain correction data. The correction data is transmitted to a gradation control means 13 to generate driving data to be applied to a driving means 3 (driver). When an optical print head provided to the optical writing device is replaced, it is unnecessary to rewrite the correction data and to replace the memory means as in the conventional way, thereby eliminating a complicated work or an erroneous operation.</p> |
