PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide a frame stave 5 for a heald frame, having acoustically attenuating performance and producible without injuring mechanical strength, wherein the frame stave 5 comprises a long length metal hollow body 9 having two side walls 11, 12 and at least one inner room 15 between the two walls. SOLUTION: The frame stave has a compressible expansion member 17 in the inner chamber previously, which expansion element is formed as a solid element and contacts to the side walls 11, 12 under stress.
