PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for synthesizing an arylsulfur pentafluoride compound. SOLUTION: This method for preparing the arylsulfur pentafluoride compound comprises, as one of its embodiment, at least partially reacting at least one arylsulfur compound with a fluorinating agent to form an arylsulfur trifluoride as an intermediate, and then exposing the formed arylsulfur trifluoride compound as the intermediate to the fluorinating agent and, optionally, exposing to a fluorine source to at least partially react the compound, so that the arylsulfur pentafluoride compound is formed.
