<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the brightness of a display device by increasing the electron emission efficiency of a thin-film electron source. <P>SOLUTION: Electrons emitted in vacuum through a thin metal film, having a thickness not larger than 5nm, is irradiated to a oppositely disposed fluorescent body. A first electrode for the electron emission is formed by reconstructing the structure of the first electrode into a structure, having both a thick island-type protrusion part and a flat thin-film part by post-heat treating the thin film of Ir, Pt, and Au are stacked. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
