<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress energy consumption in a lighting control method and a lighting system for an office, etc. while preventing the degradation of an operator's feelings of awakening and concentration. <P>SOLUTION: As shown in (a) and (b), during the morning when the operator's feelings of awakening and concentration tends to be degraded in the case using a T&A lighting system, an ambient lighting system emits light so that the illuminance on a work surface is higher than the illuminance on a desk surface at a general office of JIS recommended illuminance standards. Thereby, the degradation of the operator's feelings of awakening and concentration during the morning is suppressed. During the afternoon when the operator's feelings of awakening and concentration are hardly degraded even if the T&A lighting system is used, the ambient lighting system emits light weaker than in the morning, and a lighting system for a task is used to compensate the degradation of the illuminance on the work surface.
