PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an updating system for upgrading a main program, and for efficiently upgrading a relevant program or data in time with the upgrading of the main program. SOLUTION: This updating system for updating a module "MJ01" to be called from a main program "PR01" for use is configured so that update information 21 including upgrade information 22 and suitable version information 23 of the main program can be distributed from a server to an AV navigation device 1, and that the main program can be upgraded on the basis of the upgrade information 22. The AV navigation device 1 is provided with a means for comparing the current version of the module with the suitable version on the basis of the suitable version information 23 and a means for upgrading the module on the basis of the comparison result.
